What is the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Certification?
The CGC program is for people who want to continue to learn at higher obedience levels with their dog but don't want to get into serious competition or shows or trials. It is run by the American Kennel Club (AKC) and is administered by approved trainers like Pat Mitchell and Super Dooper Dog Training^®, LLC.

Only a privileged few trainers can offer the CGC program because of the rigid requirements and level of experience required by the AKC. Pat Mitchell is one of the elite trainers approved by the AKC to teach and test dogs and handlers for their CGC certification in the Atlanta and Northeast Georgia area.

Why do AKC CGC program?
There are many reasons why you may want to do the AKC CGC program. It's fun, it's challenging, it may help with Home Owner's insurance issues for people with certain breed dogs (check with your insurance provider), hotels honor the certificate and it is usually a pre-requisite by "therapy dog" organizations.

There's an actual test?
There is a test, designed by the AKC. It's a series of 10 exercises that you and your dog must pass to receive official AKC CGC certification. Each dog that passes gets an official CGC Certification award from the AKC!

Super Dooper Dog Training^® Preps you for the AKC CGC certification exam.
At Super Dooper Dog Training^®, we offer a 6-week class ($130 includes the CGC test) that helps you and your dog prep for the CGC test. We do several trial runs through the exercises to get your ready for the actual test which we give on the last night of class.

Super Dooper Dog Training^® makes CGC training fun because we play games and use agility equipment like tunnels, jumps, hoops, and more to you and your dog enjoy and focus better on the 10 CGC test exercises.
